Dear Title III State Directors,

Our colleagues in the Migrant Education Program have asked us to share the following information with you.

The Department of Education requires contractor support to identify, recruit, serve, and otherwise operate a Migrant Education Program (MEP) for the benefit of eligible migrant children who reside in a State that is unable or unwilling to operate a program.  Currently, two States [Connecticut (CT) and Rhode Island (RI)] have chosen to not operate a MEP.  The Department seeks bidders from State education agencies, local education agencies, institutions of higher education, and other public and private non-profit organizations.  For additional information or to comment on the draft Performance Work Statement, please visit FedBizOpps at: https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=187109e96d54441509e5be66bf53e406&tab=core&_cview=0

All comments and questions on the draft Performance Work Statement must be directed to Jason Wilson, Contract Specialist, at [log in to unmask]

In an effort to enhance competition, interested parties are invited to participate in a webinar on Tuesday, August 31 at 2:00 pm EDT. During this webinar, the Department will share its vision and goals for the procurement. This webinar is intended to be an interactive process where potential offerors are encouraged to bring fresh ideas and to suggest potential ways to improve the overall procurement process. In order to participate in the webinar please RSVP to [log in to unmask] and cc Contract Specialist, Jason Wilson, at [log in to unmask] by 5:00 pm EDT on Friday, August 27, 2010.

Thanks,
